Get a grip

If you want to laminate wood to construct a shelf or tabletop but don’t have long-enough clamps, you can use tie-down ratchets to pull the workpiece together. Use spacers to prevent damage to the wood and to spread the force so the wood doesn’t warp. I have successfully made a number of cabinets and shelves this way.
