The solar atmosphere on 23 January 2012
EIT (Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope) images the solar atmosphere at several wavelengths, and therefore, shows solar material at different temperatures. This image taken at 195 Angstrom corresponds to almost 1,5 million degrees Celsius.
This image was taken on 23 January 2012.
