Great Stuff: Automatic happy snapper
If you’d like to snap your party guests paparazzi-style but don’t want to be distracted from having a good time, then Sony’s new Party-shot automated phototaking cradle could be just the thing you need.

Compatible with Sony’s DCS-WX1 and DCS-TX1 cameras, it pans 360 degrees and tilts 24 degrees, automatically detects faces, adjusts composition, then takes the photo for you.

Placed on a table or mounted on a tripod, it uses the attached camera’s BIONZ image processor with its Face Detection and Smile Shutter features to locate and follow potential victims... er, subjects. Powered by two AA batteries, it will capture photos for up to 11 hours. One touch of the menu button allows you to set the rotation angle, shooting frequency and flash operation.

Price: about R1 400. Contact Sony on 011-690 3200 or visit www.sony.co.za
