Great stuff: Whatever the weather
The weatherman might not have a clue, but that doesn’t mean you need to spend your life playing victim to the elements.

The Vantage Vue wireless weather station from Davis Instruments provides ardent weather watchers, fanatical gardeners and farmers with an accurate forecast (yeah, we know it’s not an exact science) of what’s coming. Comprising a weather-resistant solar-powered sensor array and an indoor LCD console with backlit screen, the instrument has a wireless transmission range of up to 300 metres.

It displays indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, rainfall and more. There’s a frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio for reliable data transmission, and you get 50 on-screen graphs for comparing current and past weather.

A formidable 22 alarms warn of dangers such as high wind speeds, possible fl ooding and other phenomena. The integrated radio is compatible with Vantage Pro2 stations, so you can mix-and-match components.

Price: about R4 900. Contact distributors C W Price & Co on 011-805 4720 or visit www.cwprice.co.za
