Reader Petri Duvenhage shares a solution for a broken clip on a bicycle pump.
Ever bought a bicycle pump and, after a few uses, the plastic clip that holds it in place breaks off? Mine did, and after a few flat tyres on the road, having to borrow a pump, I made a plan. I took two terry clips and riveted them onto a piece of metal I had lying around. By bending the metal plate, I was able to ensure that the water bottle holder still fits, even though it’s not pictured here. The result: a fix that not only holds the pump much more securely than the old plastic clip did, but one that will last forever.
