Struggling with loosening battery clamps? Reader Patrick Paine shares a clever work-around.
In an older car, sometimes the clamps around the terminals of the battery en-large due to tightening. You will find that, although you tighten them as much as possible, they can still work loose. Insert a self-tapping screw where the two sides of the clamp meet (see picture). You will find that this tightens the clamp to form a good contact.
