Pictured above is one image in a series of Low Earth orbit star trails captured by astronauts on board the International Space Station. The images were captured on 03 October as the Space Station orbited our planet at speeds of over 28 000 kilometres per hour.

Did you know: The station orbits the Earth every 90 minutes and as a result astronauts on board see an average of 16 sunrises and sunsets every day.
