Kubo and the Two Strings is a 3D stop-motion adventure film that is set for release later this month. This stop-motion film comes from Laika entertainment, which is famous for films like The Boxtrolls and Coraline.

This time Laika journeys to ancient Japan to bring us a colourful and action-packed adventure. Kubo and the Two Strings follows 12-year-old Kubo a magical boy who lives in a small village where he cares for his frail mother. Kubo’s life is turned upside down when a spirit from the past reignites an age-old vendetta, causing gods and monsters to give chase to the boy. In order to survive he must find an ancient suit of armour worn by his father – a legendary Samurai warrior.

The film stars Charlize Theron, Art Parkinson, Ralph Fiennes, Rooney Mara, George Takei and Matthew McConaughey and is set for local release on Friday, 19 August.
