Ferrofluid clock makes time almost come alive

Sometimes time seems to stand still. At other times, it seems to fly. Masters student Zelf Koelman has created a clock that, using ferrofluid, seems somewhere in between… almost alive, in fact.

Koelman, from the Netherlands, writes that because of how the fluid behaves – presumably when moving toward a magnetic field – its movement looks similar to that of living creatures.
