NASA may know an awful lot about space travel, but in the space agency’s latest planning there’s a hint that the rest of us may be equally knowledgeable about… well, life. The organisation is asking the public to participate in the design of the next Deep Space Habitat for its Journey to Mars. The habitat must serve as a fully kitted living space for astronauts travelling to the red planet.
But this is no walk in the park. Proposals must include the plans for a long-duration habitat. Prototype units are to be completed by 2018. Sadly, only American citizens are eligible to participate. Click here for more details.
