    Pictured above is an amphibious assault vehicle, a unit of the American Navy, exiting the well deck of the USS Bataan. USS Bataan is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship, commissioned by the United Stated Navy in 1997. Wasp-class ships are equipped with landing decks, allowing for aircraft or helicopters to land, as well as a hatch for dispatching of amphibious assault vehicles.
