The trailer for latest documentary from filmmaker Tom Lowe will surely leave you breathless. Called AWAKEN, this feature documentary explores humanity’s relationship with both nature and technology.

This documentary comes six years after the debut of TimeScapes – a documentary where Lowe focuses on the American South West. This includes Southern California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and western Texas. The documentary is largely shot in slow motion and features the landscapes, people and wildlife of the area.

For AWAKEN Lowe spent five years visiting 30 countries across the globe to create the documentary. The trailer (above) gives you a sneak peak at he diversity and visual opulence of our planet. From the northern lights snaking across frosty skies to fog covering insanely cosmopolitan cities. Lowe seems to touch on some of humanity’s most incredible feats and takes a close look at the people who inhabit the planet.

The trailer debuted earlier this month on Facebook and YouTube and has accumulated more than 7 million views. If you haven’t seen it, click on the video tab above.
