A Thai photographer is making waves online by capturing professional-quality photographs using a smartphone. Theerasak Saksritawee, from Phuket, used a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to capture the image above as part of a series titled “Lost in Taiwan”. The image quality has been attributed to Samsung’s Dual Pixel technology. This technology uses all the available pixels for focusing, improving on the roughly 5 per cent used in the past. The camera’s image sensor will now lock on to an object and adjust the focus to capture the clearest frame possible.
The image above was captured in Keelung. It shows part of an artwork inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s famous artwork “Starry Night”. This re-imagining of the van Gogh piece was created with more than 4 million plastic bottles. It was unveiled last year to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the painter’s death and forms part of the city’s aim to promote environment, art and healing.
