The 6th of January marked the Martian Opportunity and Spirit rovers’ 4000th day on the Red Planet. To celebrate this monumental achievement, here is a classic image Opportunity took of its own tracks in the red sand.

The original mission was only supposed to last 90 days, but Opportunity remains functional to this day, while Spirit’s mission was ended on the 25th of May 2011, after it had been stuck in sand for two years.
