Open Bionics, a prosthetics development start-up, has teamed up with Disney to create bionic arms to get kids more excited about their prosthetics.
The current designs include Marvel’s Iron Man, a Star Wars lightsaber hand and a hand inspired by Queen Elsa from the film Frozen. The artwork was designed in collaboration with the Walt Disney Company’s creative teams. Open Bionics writes: “(Children) won’t have to do boring physical therapy, they’ll train to become heroes. They’re not just getting medical devices, they’re getting bionic hands inspired by their favourite characters.”
While only three designs have been released, the company writes that more will be announced soon.
