Google Play has released new functionality for comic book fans, while also updating the store front to showcase the comics themselves.
The functionality incorporates horizontal viewing and vertical scrolling to dedicate the widest part of the screen to each frame of the comic, and is available in both the Google Play Store and Google Play Books app.
The store front for the comic book section has also had a facelift, organising volumes, issues and editions so that users can find what they are looking for without hassle.
The update is already available in South Africa, and to celebrate the global roll-out, Google Play will be making a variety of comics available for free download, with special deals on paid comics available every Thursday.
