I’m sure we’re all familiar with that feeling of horror what settles over us when we’ve forgotten something valuable. Would it not be so much better if your valuables could notify you if and when you have left them behind? It’s possible with Mu Tag to do just that. The Kickstarter funded project has exceeded it’s target to bring this gadget to life.

Mu Tag discreetly attaches to almost anything while the smart notification technology informs you when you’ve left something valuable behind.

The smartphone app is compatible with iOS and Android and allows you to manage all your tags and configures them for daily use. There is no pairing involved to use the app.

The gadget also integrates to your calendar and leverages your data to infer what items you may need for scheduled dates.

Informu wants you to envision Mu Tag as a virtual leash between you and your tracked items. However, it’s important to note that it isn’t a tracking device, because it doesn’t use GPS as the chip would make the device too bulky. Instead it relies on Bluetooth technology to create that imaginary leash.

Once a Mu Tag device is outside Bluetooth range of about 60,96m it will send you a notification that you’ve forgotten something behind and shows you it’s last location. Mu Tag configures safe locations for you such as your home or the office, which means no excessive notifications.

Its interchangeable and rechargeable battery module last up to three months and completes a full charge in about 30 mins.

Give your valuables the power with a small and smart device that captures your needs. Mu Tag is available for pre-order on Backerkit for about  R314.64. Add-on items such as the USB connector charger, Mu hub power-bank and Mu Tag package deals can be viewed here.
