Licking a finger and holding it up into the air isn’t the most scientific way of determining whether or not you should take a raincoat to work. Oregon Scientific’s WMR88 wireless Weather Station makes a lot more sense. The package includes a base station that delivers not only a weather forecast, but also the time, wind speed and direction, temperature (both indoor and outdoor), humidity, barometric pressure and rainfall.
All three of the included outdoor sensors (wind, temperature and humidity, plus rain gauge) have a transmitting distance of up to 100 m and come with mounting brackets. The accompanying software allows you to track weather information in real time to give you a better understanding of the change in your environment, and you can plot graphs and analyse data on your PC via a USB port.
