A tiny house is a creative living space for those who advocate for living in a small space. The concept of tiny houses and compact living has gained popularity in recent years. It combines cost efficiency with a lowered ecological impact.
A notable example of compact living is the couple behind Tiny House Giant Journey. In 2013 Jenna and Guillaume packed up their belongings, quit their jobs and build a road worthy tiny house. After its completion in 2014, the couple embarked on their journey. By the end of 2015 they had travelled over 37 000 kilometres. This journey included the USA – their home country, Costa Rica and Iceland.
Some tiny homes are also located in big cities. New York and Paris has a number of well-known compact apartments. Some time ago an eight square metre apartment in Paris became an internet sensation for the practical use of the compact space. Toronto also has a famous little house, that was built in 1912. At just under 30 square metres, this house comes complete with a small yard.
