World’s smallest and lightest lensless microscope

UCLA engineering professor Aydogan Ozcan has invented a self-contained, lensless microscope that weighs as little as a large egg. The device uses a light-emitting diode and a digital sensor to generate holographic images, which can then be uploaded to a computer or tablet via USB.
