From the Korean motoring superpower and peddlers of questionable apostrophes comes the Kia Trail’ster. The concept car is based on the new Kia Soul (tested in the May issue of Popular Mechanics) and features a 1,6-turbo petrol engine to power the front axle while an electric motor keeps the rear wheels going. When you’re in full bush-wacking AWD mode there’s a maximum of 164 kW of power at your disposal.
We love the squared-off cuteness in its new set of muddy boots and look forward to seeing this trade blows with Jeep’s Renegade and Renault’s Duster for the top compact soft-road spot now that Daihatsu has pulled its class-defining Terios out of the country.
