Lito Green Motion is launching its first two revolutionary Sora electric superbikes on public roads. After successfully completing certification testing programme, the Sora will be able to enjoy the roads and highways of North America.

Jean-Pierre Legris, Lito Green Motion’s Chairman, commented: “The most important thing for us is the fact that two Soras are finally riding the roads. People can now see our bike ride on public roads. The development phase is now completed and the next phase looks very promising with a series of events where we will be on hand to meet our distributors and customers.”

The Sora features the world’s first electric seat on a motorcycle, allowing the driver to change the riding dynamics at the push of a button. Ride comfortably in a low-seat position when you’re cruising on the highway, then shift the seat higher for city driving to recreate that street fighter feel. Power is provided by a 12 kWh lithium polymer battery and a liquid-cooled, three-phase AC  induction motor coupled to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It’s said to go from standstill to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds, with vigorous acceleration all the way through to 190 km/h.

A really clever piece of technology – as far as we know, the first in the industry – is the so-called “safe range” mode, which uses the bike’s integrated GPS and touchscreen to dole out the remaining charge in such a way that you’re guaranteed to reach your destination. The Sora goes for 300 km on a charge.
