Brazilian artist Amarildo Silva has created an ingenious, socio-economic way to convert discarded tyres into a comfy place for stray animals to rest their weary heads.

Silva transforms the drab black tires into colourful and comfortable beds. With a passion for creating and helping animals and a desire to earn extra income, Silva took to the streets to find inspiration for his next project.

Using recyclable goods, Silva’s sustainable beds have helped bring stray animals a sense of home.

Silva collects the old tyres on the streets and then builds the beds from his home. The process involves cutting, washing and painting the tyres. Each tyre gets a unique design.

In addition to the animal beds, Silva also makes containers for plants.
