Three astronauts, including record-breaking Christina Koch, are on their way back to Earth from the International Space Station.

NASA is livestreaming the return for space enthusiasts to watch on Earth.

Koch is returning after nearly a year on the ISS which has made her the new record holder for longest continuous spaceflight by a woman. During that time, she also completed the first all-female spacewalk with fellow astronaut Jessica Meir.

She returned to Earth with astronauts Luca Parmitano from the European Space Agency and Russian astronaut Aleksandr Skvortsov who has been on the ISS since July 2019.

The three returned in the Russian Soyuz MS-13 spacecraft.

The team touched down in Kazakstan after a successful return to Earth around 11:00am CAT.

The three leaving will be replaced by three new Expedition 62 crewmembers: NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy and Russian cosmonauts Nikolai Tikhonov and Andrei Babkin in April.
