NASA astronaut Jessica Meir entertained students from her hometown with a rendition of the theme song from Star Wars on the piccolo while on board the International Space Station.
In the call to Earth, Meir spoke about her experience training for the first all-female spacewalk and how she achieved her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut.
“Never be afraid to take a risk & fail. In the end, it may bring you closer to what you want to do,” said Meir.
Do you know what a piccolo being played sounds like? What about a piccolo being played in space? Today @Astro_Jessica treated students in Maine to a little bit of music from space! @NASA loves having astronauts with diverse backgrounds and talents on the @Space_Station! pic.twitter.com/Z8rH7vkjrv
