South African cities captured from space

Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg were captured in all their spectacular night time beauty from the International Space Station.

NASA astronaut Doug Hurley posted the photos he took from his post aboard the ISS to his Twitter feed and Instagram account.

Hurley only recently arrived on the ISS, after being part of the flight crew for the first successful manned launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon which launched May 30, 2020.

Astronauts aboard the ISS are keen photographers, with many posting magnificent images of the Earth as seen from this incredible height.
