SpaceX has successfully launched the first manned flight from the United States in nine years.

After being postponed due to bad weather conditions on Wednesday, the Falcon 9 rocket launched Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken in the Crew Dragon capsule.

The flight is taking the crew to the International Space Station, where they are expected to land at 4pm CAT on Sunday, May 31.

“I certainly didn’t expect to fly again, (and) I certainly didn’t necessarily have a plan to fly again,” Hurley said in an interview with USA Today. “Once again, I think Bob and I are very humbled to be in this position.”

This is also the first private company to launch a manned mission.
