Elon Musk has announced his latest business venture, and this time around instead of venturing further into space or creating a brand new electric vehicle, the business mogul has deiced to step into the world of alcohol production.
According to reports from Teslarati, Tesla has released a limited number of premium ‘100% de agave tequila’ aptly named ‘Tesla Tequila’. The idea of creating a Tequila originally started out as nothing more than a April fools joke in 2018, but has now become a reality. Tesla Tequila doesn’t come cheap though, as each 750mL bottle of 40% or 80% proof bottle will set you back around R3900 [$250].
Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by “Teslaquilla” bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.
This is not a forward-looking statement, because, obviously, what’s the point?

“Introducing Tesla Tequila, an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila añejo made from sustainably sourced highland and lowland agaves. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and into a hand-blown glass bottle, Tesla Tequila features a dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish. Best enjoyed as a sipping tequila,” the company wrote on its website, as reported by Teslarati.

Notably, the Tesla Tequila will ship in a glass, electricity volt-shaped bottle, keeping in line with the companies other sustainably sourced energy business ventures, like eclectic vehicles and solar panels.
