Governments are now encouraging all people to wear masks, despite previously having said only those who are sick should. However, now that we’re in lockdown it’s hard to buy and source a mask of your own.
The U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome and the CDC have come up with and easy fix to this problem, simply make your own face mask with the tools you have at hand.
As you can see in the video below, all it takes to make a relatively effective face mask is a clean, but used T-shirt, bandana or towel and some basic folding skills.
Keep in mind that while face masks do offer a certain degree of protection, they are not designed to stop germs and viruses from entering your body, instead a face mask is used to stop your own germs from infecting those around you. Abiding by the social distancing rules and washing your hands as often as possible are the best ways to protect yourself from contracting COVID-19.
