Apple announced the much anticipated iOS 14 update last week and to the surprise of everyone, the update was released the very next day, bringing with it major improvements to the UI and privacy aspects of the iPhone and iPad. This sudden update release left many Apple user excited to test out the new features and changes to the platform.

The release of iOS 14 was in fact so successful that it is being adopted by users at a much quicker rate than its predecessor, iOS 13, according to reports from Mixpanel. One week after it was launched, iOS 14 has already been installed on 27% of all compatible devices. In the same seven day period of time, iOS 13 was installed on 20% of all compatible devices.

Mixpane came to these figures by using data gathered from visits to Apple’s websites along with application analytics. At the rate at which iOS 14 is being installed by users, it could soon pass iOS 13 and be installed on more devices at a much quicker rate.

It’s not hard to see why iOS 14 has been so successful, as the update includes features that many Apple users have been requesting for a number of years now.
