On 9 October, Juno made its closest approach to Earth giving the spacecraft the opportunity to take some stunning images of our planet.
This confirms that the JunoCam, as well as the probe’s other instruments, are working as they should during a close planetary encounter.
The Juno spacecraft was launched from Nasa’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on 5 August 2011 on a five-year journey to Jupiter.
