Pictured is the final qualification test of the Space Launch System’s booster in preparation for NASA’s Journey to Mars. Conducted at the Orbital ATK Propulsion Systems test facilities in Utah, USA, this test is a critical step in the preparation, as the boosters will provide more than 75 percent of the thrust needed for the craft to leave Earth’s gravitational pull. The Space Launch System will be the most powerful rocket ever built and the cornerstone of NASA’s deep space exploration.
