After just three days, PUBG Lite Mobile became the most downloaded mobile game in India

PUBG has always been one of the leading battle royal games for PC and consoles. Recently, the game took over the mobile market as well, after developers released a “Lite” rendition. Tencent, developer’s of PUBG, have announced that a less graphic version of the game has been added to the Play Store. Just three days after its’ release, the application became the most downloaded game in India.

PUBG Lite Mobile has been developed using the Unreal Engine 4, a powerful gaming software that allows developer’s to create applications for a variety of different platforms. The game itself includes a map designed for 60 players, with each match lasting around 10 minutes. The game allow’s players to heal themselves whilst moving and pinpoint the exact location of their enemies. The most appropriate consideration seems to be the decreased graphics.

PUBG Lite also comes with an enhanced aim-assist during crawling and standing positions, which aids gameplay for those using entry-level smartphones. These small adjustments make this version perfect for players in areas with poor network coverage (because there is less data needed for the game to load). The game is now able to run smoothly on smartphones with just 2GB RAM.

The full version of the mobile game utilizes superior graphics and contains a much larger, 100-player map. Other differences include matches lasting 20 minutes, and you only get notified of your enemies general direction, not their exact location. Data consumption of the full game is also significantly higher.

Previously, people who wanted to download PUBG Mobile would need a top-of-the-line device, something out of reach for a lot of mobile gamers worldwide. The smartphone market in India, for example, is comprised mostly of entry-level devices. Rumors suggest that by the end of August 2019, PUBG Lite Mobile will see its’ world-wide release, giving everyone a chance to experience the fun.
