Sky Dog is a new mobile game released by small gaming start-up Impression Games. This pew-pew shooter set in Space is a great game to have around for when you’re needing to kill some time and be entertained.

Players take on the presona of Sky Dog, who has been sent to defend the galaxy. Battle bosses on each planet, shooting down the evil Dr. Instantus’s allies.

Start off easy and work your way through the difficulty levels.

“We wanted to develop something fun but also a challenge that was accessible to as many people as possible. To that end we added difficulty settings to cater for a wide audience,” said Radhe Stringer, co-developer Impression Games

Developed and released by Impression Games, a group of coders and freelancers who wanted to make something by South Africans for South Africans.

“Gaming is a form of entertainment like other pastimes and we wanted to give people a lot of value in that. Especially during periods like the lockdown were activities are generally limited,” said Stringer.

The game is light-hearted and fun, making it easy to pick-up and play whenever you’re in the mood without the commitment of a whole tournament, exactly as a mobile game should be.

Reminiscent of Galaxy Attack, but with more mobility and dogs, many players will relate to the format and find it easy enough to get sucked in.

“Like other people I have always enjoyed spaceship type games and shooters. Growing up I was a big fan of the ‘Asteroid’ games and such. I thought if I ever made some kind of game it would be something in this genre,” said Stringer.

The game is currently only available for Android, but the developers do plan to make is available for iOS at some point in the future.
