Sci-fi seems to be a problematic genre for most. Despite everyone having their own idea about what it is and isn’t – the genre for the most part incorporates hypothetical, science-based themes into the plot of the film while making use of futuristic elements and advanced technologies to explore the world.
So to celebrate the hypothetical future, here’s my top 10 upcoming sci-fi movies arranged by release date.
1. War for the Planet of the Apes
Conflict between the humans and apes are on the rise in the third chapter. Caesar has to fight in an epic battle that will determine the fate of his species and the future of the planet.

Stephen King’s eight-book epic was turned into a film adaptation starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Expect a battle between good and evil to protect the mythical Dark Tower.

The sequel to the original dates thirty years after the events of the first film. A new blade runner discovers a long-buried secret that has the potential to disrupt society.

Chris Pratt reprise his role in the sequel that promises to be darker and scarier. The storyline will explore issues around the treatment of dinosaurs as medical experiments, animal abuse and military use amongst others.
