The much anticipated Super Nintendo World Theme Park will open its doors for the first time on 4 February, 2021, bringing to life a highly themed and immersive area featuring Nintendo’s most iconic gaming worlds, characters and adventures.
Those lucky enough to visit Super Nintendo World can expect a variety of attractions, including Mario Kart- and Yoshi-themed rides and attractions, as well as restaurants, shops and other experiences.
The colourful and interactive area offers a new theme park experience that lets guests immerse themselves in the Nintendo world by wearing a Power-Up Band, an innovative technology to help bring gameplay to life and allow guests to keep score as they make their way through the theme park. Guests with a Power-Up Band can ‘punch Blocks’, collect virtual coins, and more to bring the experience of playing Super Mario games to the real world.

Guests will race through the iconic courses of Mario Kart with their favourite Nintendo characters and be transported into the different Nintendo worlds where they’re not just playing the game, they’re actually being immersed in the game.
Other main attractions at the park include Bowser’s Castle, a Donkey Kong-themed area, and a Mario Kart-themed rollercoaster.
In terms of safety and social distancing, guests at the park will be provided with ample personal space when making their way through the different areas. Universal Studios Japan also requests that whenever possible, those planning on visiting the park make use of the online ticket store to ensure a smooth entry at the park entrance.
