Apple have announced the release of a new edition to the AirPod family, the AirPod Pro.
The biggest announcement from the press release was that the new earphones will be noise-cancelling, a much anticipated feature.
The AirPod Pro’s built-in microphones detect external sound and then cancel them out. The announcement said that this feature adjusts up to 200 times per second.
But, you can chose whether or not you want to hear the outside world or not. The transparency mode lets you hear your surroundings, giving more control over the product’s functionality.
The noise cancelling feature has taken a toll on the battery life with the AirPods lasting 4.5 hours while listening to music with the feature active.
Users can choose between small, medium or large ear tips that are designed to create a sealed fit, depending on your ear size. It is sweat and water resistant, making them perfect for workouts.
Siri is now available as users can say “Hey Siri” to complete voice commands.
The Pros are set to be released on 30 October for $249 (around R3,600).
