This year has been filled with some of the weirdest stories in recent years. Elon Musk launched his very own brand of tequila, mysterious monoliths started popping up in random locations, and China’s Chang’e-5 moon capsule returned to Earth with the first Lunar samples in four decades.
All of these events have seemingly been blown out the water by Boston Dynamics latest robot demonstration, which is both extremely impressive but also terrifying the more you watch it.
Boston Dynamics, who specialise in creating some of the most advanced robotics on Earth, recently posted a video of two of its humanoid robot called ‘Atlas’ performing a synchronized dance to the song Do You Love Me by The Contours. While this may not sound all that impressive at first, as the company has previously shown Atlas performing parkour, watching the robots dance in perfect unison is enough to send chills down your spine.
During the 2 minute video, Atlas and its partner can be seen pulling off some truly amazing footwork, all perfectly timed with the song. Atlas also pulls off a number of mid-air turns, does the iconic ‘Twist’ dance move, and even the running man. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any weirder, Spot the robot dog also joins in on the dance party and performs some impressive ballerina-style dance moves.
Take a look at the video below:
The clip is so eery that Elon Musk himself took to Twitter to clarify that no CGI was used when making the video.

While this video was made to ‘celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year’, according to Boston Dynamics, it also shows how much these robotics have advanced over the years, to the point where they’re able to pull off some truly amazing acrobatics, even better than some humans.
