High-pressure mercury projector lamps are yesterday’s news. Casio’s latest projector, the Green Slim XJ-A155, boasts a laser and LED hybrid light source to throw an even brighter image. Not only is this lamp more environmentally friendly than the conventional lamp, but with an estimated life of 20 000 hours, it lasts almost 10 times longer (which means less maintenance and much lower operating costs).
Just 33 mm thick, no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper and weighing 2,3 kg, Casio’s newcomer produces a brightness of 3 000 ANSI lumens – making it powerful enough to use in brightly lit rooms. Maximum brightness is achieved just eight seconds from start-up, and no cool-down period is needed when you’re finished. The projector accepts USB memory sticks and can access networks wirelessly, so you can leave your PC at home. Price: about R10 000.
