Facebook’s much anticipated dark mode feature is finally being rolled out to users around the world after months of research and development.
“Starting today [20 March], the majority of people on Facebook will have access to the new desktop design,” Facebook told TechCrunch. This includes the ability to switch between ‘normal’ and dark mode whenever you feel the need to do so.
Facebook toyed with the idea of introducing a dark mode feature to its platform during last year’s F8 developer conference. Now it looks like that idea has officially become a reality.

To access dark mode on your desktop, go to your profile> click on the tiny arrow in the top right hand side of your screen> scroll down to the second last option which reads ‘Switch to new Facebook’> You’ll then be asked to ‘choose a look’, either light or dark mode.
Once you select dark mode, not only will your entire feed turn from white to black, but you’ll be welcomed with a whole new Facebook layout as well. It could take some time navigating your way around the new layout, but after a few minutes it should become second nature.
