Samsung released the much anticipated Galaxy Fold in September of 2019. Only a month later a concept video was uploaded to Samsung’s Youtube newsroom channel showcasing the next generation of foldable phones.
Now, it seems as though the concept will soon be made a reality with Samsung openly revealing the device to attendees of a secret meeting at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to reports coming out of South Korean news agency Ajunews.com, the device will be named ‘Galaxy Bloom’ instead of ‘Galaxy Fold 2’ as originally expected.
According to Ajunews, Samsung drew inspiration for the Galaxy Bloom design from Lancôme, a French cosmetics company. The Galaxy Bloom folds into a clamshell form instead of the ‘folding book’ design like the original Galaxy Fold. Reports also suggest that the Galaxy Bloom will be targeted towards a younger female demographic, and the design seems to back up the report.

Galaxy Bloom will feature an ultra-thin glass (UTG) folding screen and reportedly be able to shoot videos in 8K resolution. The device is expected to be launched at Samsung’s annual Unpacked event on February 11. We’ll keep you updated on information that “unfolds” in the near future.
