Within a year of its launch, LeapFrog’s original LeapPad Explorer became a hit with little people, parents and educators alike, and for good reason – its intuitive tablet format allowed children to explore their creativity while building skills such in language, maths and science.
The good news is that the recently launched upgrade, LeapPad2, is even better. New features include higher-resolution cameras and video recorders (front and back), a faster processor, double the memory (now 4 GB) and improved battery life – all housed in a durable, child-friendly package and packaged with a fair bit of free content.
It’s the new Cartoon Director creativity app (included) that makes the most of these new features, allowing youngsters to develop their er… inner director by creating and starring in their very own cartoons, then sharing their masterpieces with family and friends.
By the end of the year, we’re told, the LeapPad’s content library will feature as many as 200 game cartridges, apps, tunes, videos, eBooks and other content items. Price: about R1 400. Contact Prima Toys on 011-499 5922 or visit www.primatoys.co.za
