The last few months have seen a huge increase in the number of students taking part in virtual classes, this is of course due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The people at National Geographic have recognised this and decided to release a collection of virtual backgrounds and wallpapers to liven up online classes.

Within the collection, you’ll find high-quality images of space, animals, and even dinosaurs. To add one of the images as your background, simply click on the picture you want to use, then right-click on the picture and select the “Save Image As” option to save it to your computer. Once the image has been saved follow the instructions on your video conferencing software to upload your new NatGeo background.

Take a look at a few of the best options below:

Along with a contribution from National Geographic, we’ve also been some impressive virtual backgrounds from the likes of Lucasfilm and its Star Wars wallpapers. BBC has also created innovative backgrounds made up of over 100 empty sets from the BBC Archive, including the set of Only Fools and Horses and the pub from EastEnders.
