Images of what could possibly be the new iPad Air have surfaced on the Vietnamese blog Tinhte.vn.
Tinhte.vn has a collection of images that allegedly preview the iPad Air 2, although some Web sites suspect this device might be a dummy model. The blog writes that the new iPad Air is only 7 mm thick, which is not much of a stretch as the new-generation iPhone 6s measure 6,9 and 7,1 mm.
“The most obvious difference in this model is the fingerprint-touch Home button, modelled on that of the iPhone,” the blog states. The iPhone 5S introduced Touch ID technology to the Apple family, a simple security measure which allows the user access to their device and to purchase through the App Store without having to enter a password.
Announced almost a year ago and released shortly afterwards, the iPad Air showed design features significantly different from those of the iPad and iPad Mini. But its days might be numbered, if this week’s leak is anything to go by.
Whether or not this is a accurate preview or a cleverly compiled hoax is yet to be seen, but we’ll keep you updated in the coming weeks.
