There’s not much point in having the best technology if its battery is not charged, which makes the latest reports about the new iPhone a bit confusing.
According to Ming-chi Kuo, a well-connected analyst, Apple has plans to stop the inclusion of power adapters and Earpods in the box with the 2020 iPhone model. Additionally, Kuo reported that the power adapter will also be removed from the new iPhone SE’s packaging, later in this year.
Presently, Earpods are included in all iPhone boxes. A 5W USB-A adapter comes with the 11 and SE, and an 18W USB-C adapter comes with the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
Kuo believes that the exclusion of these additional items in the iPhone boxes is Apple’s attempt to offset the cost increase for upgrading the iPhone to 5G, The Verge reported. It is reported that, as a result of these changes, the packaging would be smaller and thus more eco-friendly and shipping costs would also decrease.
While these are only rumours, it does make business sense for Apple, since it would increase sales of AirPods.
Apple Insider reported Kuo’s claims that there are two new iPad models to be rolled out. He said that Apple would include a new 20-watt power adapter in the new iPad models.
