Otterbox latest smartphone screen protector kills bacteria

During the course of the day your phone, and more specifically your phone screen, accumulates a huge amount of bacteria. Whether it be through interaction like scrolling through your twitter feed on your daily commute or texting while using the loo, there’s no disputing the fact that mobile screens can be filthy. That’s where OtterBox’s latest Glass Anti-Microbial comes into play.

Otterbox has teamed up with Corning, an American technology company that specialises in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials to create the new Amplify Glass Anti-Microbial screen protector.

According to Otterbox CEO Jim Parke, “Amplify Glass now features proprietary anti-microbial technology that suppresses the growth of several common stains and odor-causing bacteria to protect the surface of the screen protector.”

The Amplify Glass Anti-Microbial screen protector also protects the display on your smartphone five times better than conventional screen protectors, along with being the only EPA-registered (Environmental Protection Agency) screen protector on the market. Seeing as the technology is embedded into the glass itself, there is no chance of the protection degrading over time.

Amplify Glass will be compatible with Otterbox’s wide selection of phone cases as well as the latest iPhone models and can be purchased when they hit the market in the near future from the online Otterbox store.
