Samsung’s Galaxy Watch was awarded “Best Wearable Mobile Technology” at the annual Global Mobile Awards (Glomo Awards) at Mobile World Congress 2019, and in an age where the Apple Watch dominates the segment, this is an incredible achievement.

Some of the standout features of the Galaxy Watch include its tight integration with Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem, long lasting battery life, LTE connectivity and a timeless design.

“The Galaxy Watch is an exceptional example of technology that makes life better and the award is recognition of Samsung’s relentless pursuit of innovation. As a human-centred company, we’re proud to create products that help people do more, “says Justin Hume, Director: Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa.

Released towards the end of 2018, the Galaxy Watch is the last device to feature Samsung’s rotating bezel (the Watch Active which was unveiled with the Galaxy S10 series does not have this feature). It has advanced wellness features including a new stress management tarcker which automatically detects high levels of stress and offers breathing exercises, and is able to track up to 39 workouts. There’s also a new advanced sleep tracker which monitors all levels of sleep, including REM cycles.
