Tree Felling Made Easy
The last thing you need when felling a tree is for it to fall the wrong way (you know, like on your head). The good news: Stihl’s new Laser 2-in-1 – a laser system that mounts on the handle of their MS 261 chainsaw – makes even raw novices comes across like woodland pros.
In essence, it projects a laser beam on the ground to help you determine the direction in which the tree will fall. It has a wide adjustment range, allowing the laser line to be set according to your working environment. Once the tree is on the ground, the system kicks in again to help you cut logs to the required size without you having to fiddle with a tape measure. Price: about R2000.
