TikTok parent company ByteDance announced earlier this year that they have been developing their very own smartphone. As promised, the company announced the release of its new flagship device over Halloween. The new smartphone is called the Jianguo Pro 3 (which translates to Nut Pro 3) and has been launched under the Smartisan brand, which ByteDance acquired last year.

The Jianguo Pro 3 has positioned itself as a budget-friendly flagship device. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ and flaunts a 6.9inch AMOLED display that runs at a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The base model of the phone will cost you around R6,000 and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The premium model will set you back R6,700 and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
On the back of the device you’ll find four camera setup featuring Sony’s 48MP IMX586 primary sensor. The large sensor is paired with a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 123° field of view, an 8MP telephoto camera and a 5MP 2cm macro lens. (Wide + Tele + Ultra Wide + Macro).
In terms of design, the Jianguo Pro 3 takes inspiration form the iPhone 4’s glass sandwich design, flat metal frame that wraps around the device, and iconic circular buttons. Other interesting features of the device include selfie lighting effects and direct access to the TikTok app right from the lock screen.
