WhatsApp have finally released their beta version of dark mode for Android and thankfully it is just in beta.
The much-anticipated launch of this feature turns the background of the app from white to black. Many other apps and computers have instituted this, mainly Apple.
The feature is meant to be kinder on the eyes especially at night and uses less battery.
Reactions to the beta test have been mixed, with some complaining that the dark mode isn’t dark enough and looks strange next to emojis.
Years in the making, the #darkmode of #WhatsApp is bad in so many details. Try it with any of the provided wallpapers. No, find any wallpaper that does not look stupid with those colours. And ofc there is no real black option. Is it so hard just to copy Telegram?

Dark mode is yet to roll-out for everyone but keep checking to see if it’s available on your android device.
Once the option is available, select the Dark Theme from the settings menu. When Dark Theme becomes available, you’ll see the ‘Theme’ setting under ‘Chats, right above the ‘Wallpaper’ setting.
